If you know Virginia wine then you’re sure to have heard name Gabriele Rausse. The Italian winemaker has been in the VA industry since the 1970s and is known as the “Father of Virginia Wine”.
Last year, Rausse’s Taste of Monticello tour took guests to the grounds of Montalto to experience winemaking practices from the time of Thomas Jefferson.
This year, he and his sons, Tim and Peter, will welcome guests into their own winery located not far from the spot where Jefferson dreamed of creating wines to rival Europe’s best.
The late afternoon tour will begin with a rare look inside the Rausse private winery with a discussion of his winemaking practices, his influences, and what he forecasts for the future of the industry. Following the tour, guests will enjoy a guided tasting in the new tasting room with homemade heavy hors d’oeuvres.
Tickets are available as part of the 3-day Taste of Monticello Wine Trail Festival Pass - For passes and more information visit: http://sprintpavilionpromo.shop.ticketstoday.com/
