Join Winemaker Matthieu Finot on a behind the scenes look at what goes into modern winemaking at King Family Vineyards. Finot was born in Crozes Hermitage in the Rhone Valley of France. Coming from a family of viticulturists and wine lovers, Finot was predisposed to continue his family's pursuit of making and enjoying wine.
The afternoon will begin in the vineyard, where Finot will discuss grape growing practices found here in Virginia.
Next, the tour will move into the winery for a lesson on blending. First guests will get to tour KFV’s new state of the art winery and see where the magic of winemaking happens. Then be led in a discussion and demonstration on the art of blending a wine that captures the best attributes of each grape.
To bring afternoon full circle, from vines to a final product in a glass, everyone will head to the Tasting Room for a private tasting of KFV’s current offerings in their Library Room.
*We recommend wearing footwear and clothing that is appropriate for walking through a vineyard and around a working production winery.
