Concerned about the increasing sense of division in America, Chris Register ditched a career in law and set forth on a pedal-powered odyssey across the United States, seeking to rediscover the shared values and experiences that make us a nation. Conducting one interview per day over a cumulative year, he heard from ranchers, bankers, drug addicts, musicians, autoworkers, and other everyday Americans who could spare a few minutes for a chat.
