Winemaking Philosophy:
Trump Winery prides itself in making quality, terroir driven wines in the heart of the Monticello AVA. With an elevation range of 600 and 1,000 feet, high density plantings, and an emphasis on sustainable practices, we craft sparkling, white, and red wines that can compete with the best wines from around the world.

Winemaker: Jonathan Wheeler

Jonathan leads our award-winning sparkling, white, and red wine programs and has been directly responsible for our 90+ point scores with Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, and James Suckling, numerous best-in-class designations, and internationally awarded gold medals. Jonathan draws on his historical knowledge of the estate having worked with the grapes since 2006. He also brings expertise gained from working in Sonoma and Monterey, California, Marlborough, New Zealand, and his home in the Finger Lakes of New York. Jonathan holds a B.A. in Chemistry from State University of New York at Oswego. He is currently a member of the Winemaker’s Research Exchange in Virginia. 

Wines Typically Available:
Sparkling: Our sparkling wines are made via Méthode Champenoise using Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Our sparkling program features Blanc de Blanc, Blanc de Noir, Sparkling Rosé, and Sparkling Reserve.

White: Chardonnay, Chardonnay Reserve, Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Trinity

Rosé: Dry rosé, made from a blend of Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Petit Verdot

Red: Cabernet Sauvignon, Bordeaux-style blends made of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec

Wednesday-Monday: 11am-5pm
Closed: Tuesdays, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Day

Tasting fee: Guests will enjoy a self-guided flight of our current releases. Sparkling, white, red, and taster's choice flights are available. Four 1.5oz pours $25; includes one Riedel wine glass to match your flight. Four 3oz pours $35; includes one Riedel wine glass to match your flight. Reserve Tastings are available on select Saturday’s at 1pm for $50 per person.

Group Policy: Groups less than 8 are first-come, first-served. Groups of 8-20, please reach out to us at 434-266-9909.

Food Available: Seasonal menu available for indoor seating areas from 11am-5pm; for outdoor food options, please visit our grab and go section in the Tasting Room for a wide selection of picnic items.

Public Events:
Our events include vineyard carriage rides, winemaker dinners, Race & Taste 5k and 10k, and other seasonal events throughout the year. Check our calendar, as we are constantly creating new unforgettable experiences for our guests.

Pet Policy: Dogs are allowed outside on a leash or in a carrier and under control of an adult at all times. Dogs are not allowed on chairs, seats, benches, or tables. You must clean up after your pet.

Kid-friendly: All ages are welcome at the Tasting Room. Please be prepared to show your ID. The Reserve Room, by reservation only, is limited to guests 21 and over.
