Nestled into the rolling hillsides below Afton Mountain, Cardinal Point Vineyard & Winery is a pleasing blend of the industrial and the pastoral. Cardinal Point is the perfect destination for those who want to sample award winning varietal as well as unique blends.
At Cardinal Point, our winemaker, Tim Gorman, is the Vineyard Manager as well. With 24 years of experience growing vitus vinifera vines at Cardinal Point, Tim’s expertise as a grower shows up in the quality of his wines.
Tim takes great pains to ripen his fruit to the best quality possible… since he knows he’ll be the one paying for any shortcomings in the winery! And although he will tell you that the best wines make themselves, he clearly enjoys expressing his creative side in the cellar, as evidenced by our very popular signature blends.
Wines Typically Available:
Whites: Green (vinho verde inspired), Chardonnay, IPC Hopped Chardonnay, Quattro (Riesling blend)
Rosé: Cabernet Franc based rosé
Reds: Rockfish Red (lighter bodied red), Union (fuller bodied red), Petit Verdot
Winter Hours (January 10 – March 1): Friday-Monday 11am-5:30pm
Regular Season Hours (March 2 – January 9): Open Daily 11am-5:30pm
Closed: Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day
Tasting fee: $10/person, for groups less than 10 people the fee is discounted against your purchases.
Group Policy: Groups of 10+ people must have confirmed reservation by calling 540-456-8400 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. All groups are scheduled before 1pm. Tasting fee is $10/person.
Public: Live music on the deck Sundays in warmer months and fall. Oyster Festival held in May and November.
Private: Space available for private event and wedding rental. Contact form on Cardinal Point website.
Food Available: A selection of meats and cheeses are available for purchase.
Pet Policy: Leashed dogs allowed inside tasting room and in outdoor seating areas.
