Flying Fox Vineyard

Nestled in the heart of Nelson County wine country, Flying Fox Vineyard is a small, family-run winery. After many years of growing grapes we recently made the leap and started producing our own wines. We invite you to come by and taste our limited production wines including Cabernet Franc,  Merlot, Petit Verdot, Viognier and Pinot Gris.  A winter fireplace and summer patio with lovely views will encourage you to linger a while at Flying Fox.

Located in Afton, Virginia, Flying Fox Vineyard is a family-owned wine producer known for its small-production wines, experimental releases, and award-winning seasonal vermouth. The winery works with two vineyard sites: Flying Fox Vineyard in the Monticello AVA, where its red grape varieties are grown, and Ridge Run Vineyard in the Shenandoah Valley AVA, which supplies its white varieties.

Flying Fox embraces both traditional winemaking and creative experimentation. Its Sly Fox series explores less conventional wine styles, while its seasonal vermouth collection incorporates ingredients such as citrus, herbs, ginger, and fruit.
